      Pre-existing medical conditions

      We can insure some pre-existing medical conditions. If you have a pre-existing medical condition that we can’t cover, the Money and Pensions Scheme (MaPS) has a directory listing companies that might be able to help you. You can also contact them on 0800 138 7777 between 8am-6pm Monday to Friday.

        Things you need to know before you get a quote:

        • Please make sure that the information you provide is accurate for each traveller. If the information you provide isn’t accurate, we may reduce or reject your claim, or cancel your policy without a refund.
        • We'll search our records for your Tesco Clubcard number, and we may access and use information (including transactional information, name and address) from your Tesco Clubcard account. This will help us and your insurer to assess your premium and will only be used to make a positive impact on your premium.

        Please make sure all of the following statements are true before continuing with the quote:

        • you are a UK resident and registered with a GP.
        • your trip must start and end in the UK.
        • you have not already travelled.
        • the policy holder must be 18 or over.
        • no travellers on the policy are aged over 80 (or over 50 if you have chosen Backpacker) at the time of travel.

        What's not covered

        Although our policies cover a broad range of scenarios, we can't cover every eventuality, so please see the list below for some of the things that aren't included:

        • Pre-existing medical conditions unless declared and cover accepted.
        • Travelling against medical advice or with the intention of obtaining medical treatment abroad.
        • Certain hazardous sports and activities may not be covered under this policy – see policy wording for details.
        • Circumstances you were aware of before your policy was issued or journey was booked (whichever is the later) that might result in a claim.

          How we collect and use your personal data

          Tesco Personal Finance PLC (trading as Tesco Bank) acts as an intermediary for this policy. The policy is arranged and administered by ROCK Insurance Services Limited (ROCK) and underwritten by Inter Partner Assistance SA UK Branch (IPA UK) whose ultimate parent company is AXA Partners Holding SA. You can find out more about how ROCK will process and share your data in their Privacy Notice.

            ROCK will share some of your information with Tesco Bank as set out in their privacy notice and you can find out more about how Tesco Bank will then process that data in our Privacy Policy.

            ROCK will also share data with IPA UK so that they can underwrite your policy and if you make a claim.
