Register for Online and Mobile Banking

Before you can start using online or mobile banking, you’ll need to get set up first. Have a look at the simple steps below to get started.

As long as you've got your personal and account details to hand, you can start taking advantage of banking on-the-go immediately.

There's just a few simple steps

1. Enter some personal details

This includes your:

  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Postcode
  • Your product details

We’ll then send you a Temporary Security Number immediately by SMS or through the post. It's valid for 30 days so once you receive this enter the details and continue.

2. Choose your security credentials

This includes your:

  • Username (we recommend you use your email address)
  • Security number that's 6-digits and can't be a simple pattern or your date of birth
  • Password that is at least 7 characters with a mix of letters and numbers. It's case sensitive and can't be the same as your username

We'll also ask you to set up security questions that can be used in the future if you need to get in touch with us over the phone.

It is important that these details are memorable as you'll need them each time you log in. If you've downloaded our app, you can log in quickly and easily with your fingerprint on compatible iPhone and Android devices, or using Face ID on iPhone X.

3. Read and accept the Online Banking Terms and Conditions

You’ll need to accept the terms and conditions for using online banking and mobile banking. If you’re using our app, you’ll have done this already at the beginning of the journey. You can download these terms and conditions in PDF format below.

And finally, if you’re using online banking, you’ll be asked to allow Tesco Bank to recognise your computer or mobile device for security. This helps us identify that it's really you logging in. If you allow us to recognise your computer or mobile device, we store a small security token on your device which doesn't store any private or personal information about you or your accounts.
