Details about the information you provide and the charges that could apply

Make sure the information you enter during the quote process is accurate, as it could affect the cover you have under the policy or any claims you make.
If you do not answer any questions honestly, withhold information, or do not select the correct level of cover to replace 'as new' your contents and valuables, personal possessions, specified items and bicycles, we may refuse to pay your claim, pay only part of your claim, and/or void your policy.

Before you buy your Tesco Bank Home Insurance online, please read the policy documents to ensure that the policy you select meets your needs. The policy booklet and Key policy information booklet outline the benefits, limitations and exclusions that will apply to your cover, they also contain information on cancellation rights and any refunds that might apply.

How we use your data

We might have to run some credit checks

At quotation, renewal and when some policy amendments are requested, information about you will be obtained from credit reference agencies to check your credit status and identity. These searches will appear on your credit report but won't affect your credit rating.

The agencies will record our enquiries, and searches may be visible to other lenders. Please read the Data Processing Information below for full detail of how your data will be used.

How we use clubcard data

We will use the information you provide including name and address to search our records to find a Clubcard number linked to your household. Tesco Bank uses this Clubcard information (including shopping purchases) to generate a risk profile for your household, which is used to calculate the level of Clubcard discount Tesco Bank and its insurers may offer you. The risk profile may be shared with our select panel of insurers in order for any discount to be applied. Tesco Bank does not share transactional Clubcard information (including shopping purchases) with its insurers. Clubcard information is used in this way whenever you are given a quote, including at renewal and if you make any changes to your policy and when selecting offers which may be of interest to you.
