Getting started

First, if you haven’t already, you’ll need to set yourself up for Online Banking. It is easy to do: just follow this link and follow the process.

You can download the app from either the App Store or Google Play, and once you’ve got it, you’re ready to get started. Take a quick look at the following video to see our simple 5-step registration process.

Welcome to the Tesco Bank Mobile App Features Guides, a series of small films helping you to use the app and manage your current account, credit card, loans and savings accounts securely, on the move and all from the palm of your hand.

Ready? Let's go.

First, you will need to be registered for online banking. If you haven't already, it's easy to do: just go to and follow the process.

To download the app, search for Tesco Bank at either the App Store or Google Play. Now you're ready to start using our mobile app, let's take a quick look at registering the app and its inbuilt security features.

Some screens might look a little different depending on your mobile device but don't worry - all the app's features will be included in both Apple and Android versions.

You should only have to do the following security process once to register the app on your device.

To make full use of our handy 'Find an ATM' feature and to help us keep you safe, allow the app to use your current location.

Full Terms and Conditions can be downloaded by tapping on the icon at the top of the screen.

As you'd expect, we've built in secure features to protect you and your money. You will recognise these same features from the Online Banking web pages.

To start enter your Username.

Your image and phrase, chosen when you set up Online Banking, will be shown here, so you can be confident that you're actually on the official Tesco Bank app.

Enter the digits from your Security Number.

Then we'll send you, by text, a One Time Access Code to the mobile number registered to your account which, when entered into the app will create a secure link between your phone and us. You can even copy and paste the code directly into the app.

Finally we need you to input the same Password that you use for Online Banking.

If you want to speed up logging in securely every time you use the app you can create a unique Passcode that's specific to your device, or if you would prefer, you can continue without creating a Passcode and log in next time with both your Security Number and Password.

Using the app

Busy life? Always on the go? Never enough time to keep track of your current account, savings, or credit card?

Stay on top of your money instantly, wherever you are with a little help from the Tesco Bank Mobile App.

You'll be able to keep track of your money and stay in control. Just swipe left or right to reach the account of your choice, be it your Current Account, Credit Card, Savings Account or Personal Loan.

For each account you'll see important details like current balance, available funds and you can get additional information too - everything from your overdraft, if you have one, to savings interest rates and credit card payment dates.

Ok, but what if you want to check up on account activity? Simple, just tap the icon.

For example you can check your transactions, or access your calendar, or maybe you want to move some money around? No problem, our app lets you move money to your other accounts, make payments to bills or other people, and check on scheduled payments, standing orders and Direct Debits.

You can even move the navigation menu from left to right to make it easy to reach whichever hand you hold your phone in. (Android version only)

Your choices are all easily accessible and, as you can see, all other account types have similar options too.

For Credit Cards you can view transactions, check statements or pay some money in with a debit card.

For Savings Accounts you can check activity like transactions, access the Save Now feature, or move money by making transfers or payments.

And for Loans you can check up on your account activity.

Then why not see all your accounts together in one place. Hey presto, the perfect overview to stay on track and on top of your money.

Need cash fast? Our Tesco ATM Locator feature lets you find your nearest Tesco ATM. Wherever you are, directions to your cash are just a few taps away, keeping you streets ahead and in control.

For more info, just click on the information icon and you'll get even more details about that store. It really does put managing your money on the move, on the map.

On the go, on the bus, at the office or at home, the app is right there with you to keep you in control. You can see your account balances and important information: everything from your overdraft, to savings interest rates and credit card payment dates.

And if you want to move some money around, our app lets you move money to your other accounts, make payments to bills or other people, and check on scheduled payments. Have a look at our video to see what you can do with our app.

Your transactions

Let’s take a closer look at checking your transactions with the app. Watch this video to see how you can view your transaction details, search and sort, and even use our calendar feature. Our credit card users can also see there pending transactions in the app so they can keep right up to date.

Let's take a closer look at some of the great features that will make organising your money...child's play.

Let's take a look now at the Account Activity menu. It's here you can access transactions, statements and your calendar for Current Accounts. For Android, just tap on the icon at the bottom left of the screen.

If you tap 'View Transactions' you'll see a list of all your recent activity. You can view the details on each transaction by simply picking the one that interests you, and swiping down will show the next item.

Sorting is a cinch too, just swipe left or tap the search icon to access the Search & Sort options. For Android, just click on the A-Z icon at the top.

You can sort the view, or simply enter the details of the transaction in the search bar to find what you're looking for. The results will filter out as you type.

You can even view an 'at a glance' calendar showing a summary of ins and outs for this and the previous month. The calendar opens on the current month with the day's date highlighted and shows a handy summary of your incomings and outgoings for the month. Or you can drill down further by tapping on a particular date to see activities on that specific day.

Another extra feature is that you can also access your calendar directly from your Current Account home page.

As for monthly statements, well they're accessed in exactly the same way as your other features. Either by tapping on Account activity in iPhone or by tapping on the navigation fan in Android and selecting Statement archive. You'll see a list of all your previous statements and you can select the one you want.

By tapping the icon at the top right of your screen you have the ability to print, copy, email or even Airdrop the statement from iPhone and there are similar options available for Android.

Please remember, once you export the statement it is no longer protected by the Mobile App security.

Making payments

Finding a spare moment in your day to take care of things like money isn't always easy. With the Tesco Bank Mobile App you need never miss a bill or payment again. So, tune in, turn on and relax as we take you on a journey through the basics.

For current and savings accounts the options available are the ones you see here. iPhone users will find these options under the 'Move Money' icon.

Got an Android Phone? Just tap on the icon at the bottom left of the screen to open the navigation menu and select which feature you would like to use.

Making a transfer between your accounts? You'll see a screen showing your selected account details and balance. The accounts you can transfer to will be displayed neatly below - just choose the one you want.

Next you have a handy option. Either type an amount into the input box or select a quick amount using the blue icons - you can keep tapping these icons to increase the amount in steps. Select 'Now' for instant payment or 'Choose A Date' to transfer later.

Everything in order? Select 'Make (or Schedule) Transfer' and you're done.

Need to make a payment to an external account, someone in the family or to pay a bill? Just select the payments feature. Remember though, you'll need to set up your external recipients at Online Banking.

Once you've chosen who you're paying to, the process is exactly the same as for inter-account transfers, with the added benefit of being able to add a reference for the payment.

Let's move on to scheduled payments. Here you can check on what payments are going out of your accounts in the future. Simply sort this list by scheduled date, alphabetically or by amount.

Got a Tesco Bank Credit Card? Managing it couldn't be easier. You can pay off some, or all, of your balance with any UK debit card, plus you can take a quick glance at your current statement. To make a payment to your credit card, simply select 'Pay with debit card'. You will need to add your card at Online Banking, then select which debit card to make the payment from, by scrolling up and down on the screen.

For Android users the process of selecting a debit card looks a little different. If everything's good to go, you'll see a pop-out verification screen, at which point just enter the password for your card. Finally you should see a confirmation message - job done!

Another very handy feature of the Tesco Bank Mobile App is 'Save Now'. This allows you to pull money in from other accounts to top up your savings.

For easy set up just link an account to Save Now via our Online Banking website. Select Save Now and pick the external account that you want to transfer from at the bottom of the screen.

A big plus here is that you can link any account from any UK bank. Press save and the money will be requested from your linked account.

And that's it! Your journey's ended. You've just managed everything you needed to on the move and best of all, you're on top of your money and can get on with the rest of your day.

With the app you need never miss a bill again. As a credit card holder, you can pay off some, or all, of your balance by selecting ‘Pay with debit card’ or by setting up a Direct Debit.

Current and savings account customers can make transfers between accounts, payments to any external accounts, a friend or family member, or to pay a bill. Here you can see exactly how you can do all this and more to manage your payments and payees with our app.

Balance Peek

Mobile Banking is even easier with Balance Peek. Watch this video to see how you can check your balances quickly on the move, without even having to log in.

It’s as simple as choosing the accounts you want to see outside of your login, and tapping ‘Save’. Once you have set it up, you can check your balances in the app login screen, in Today Notifications for iPhones, in Android Widgets and even on your Apple Watch.

Balance Peek from Tesco Bank allows you to quickly and easily check your balances on the move, without even logging into the app.

To set it up securely you will need to log in and visit settings, where you can pick any or all of your accounts.

You can come back at any time to change which accounts you see, or to turn it off completely.

So... that's all there is to it.

Next time you launch the app, you'll quickly be able to peek at your selected balances.
