- Routine treatment - 100% reimbursement up to £125 per year
- Remedial (restorative) treatment up to £1,000 (50% reimbursement) per year
- Family cover for just £49.80 a month (based on 2 adults and 2 children)
Core Cover - £9.95 a month!
Do you receive NHS dental treatment? Core Cover provides:
- Great value cover for under £120 a year
- 100% reimbursement on NHS treatment
- Relax knowing that you have dental cover when you need it
Key benefits
- Routine treatments - such as check ups, hygiene treatments and x-rays
- Unplanned treatments - such as fillings, root canal work, crowns, bridges, inlays and onlays (sometimes called remedial and restorative treatment)
- Mouth cancer cover up to £12,000 towards one course of treatment
- Worldwide dental accidents cover up to £10,000 per year

Remember, as with all insurance policies, there are some things that aren't covered. For some benefits, you will not be eligible for cover until you have had your policy for one month (Core Cover) or three months (Premium Cover). If you haven't been to the dentist in the past 12 months, Premium Cover wont pay benefit for treatment identified at your first check up. Please read the exclusions before you buy to ensure the cover is right for you!

NHS dental charges in England and Wales
NHS dental treatment in England and Wales is charged in three bands regardless of whether you have one visit to your dentist, or a whole course of treatment.
NHS dental charges in Scotland and Northern Ireland
Dentists in Scotland and Northern Ireland charge per item and you're expected to pay 80% of treatment costs up to a maximum limit of £384. In Scotland, check ups are free on the NHS.
Some people may be exempt from NHS charges. You can get further information on this and dental charges on the NHS website, or call your NHS dentist.
What is included?
Whichever level of Tesco Dental Insurance you choose, your policy provides cover to look after your pearly whites, such as:
- Routine treatments - such as check ups, hygiene treatments and x-rays

What isn't included?
- Treatment you had or knew you needed before you joined, or that was identified within the qualifying period of your policy
- Cancer treatment within the first 90 days of joining
- Implants, cosmetic treatment, tooth whitening, orthodontics or any treatment not deemed to be clinically necessary, unless as part of a course of NHS dental treatment
- Sporting injuries where a mouthguard or other recommended protection is not worn, unless treated on the NHS
- Dental accidents and emergencies within the first month of joining.
Exclusions to Core Cover
No dental treatment covered before or within the first month of joining. This is a one-off 'qualifying period', applying to the start of the policy.
Exclusions to Premium Cover
No dental treatment covered before or within the first three months of joining. This is a one-off 'qualifying period', applying to the start of the policy.
Haven't visited a dentist in the past 12 months? If so, then any treatment (e.g. crowns or fillings) identified at your first appointment will not be covered. The cost of your check up will be covered.
