Can I get cover for my vehicle?

We cover the following vehicles: car, motor caravan, minibus fitted with no more than 17 seats including driver, light van, estate car, MPV or 4x4 sport utility vehicle.

The vehicle must have:

  • a maximum legal laden weight of 3,500kg (3.5 tonnes)
  • maximum overall dimensions of 5.5 metres long, 3 metres high and 2.3 metres wide

The above includes any load carried.

These restrictions also apply to caravans and trailers except that the maximum length of caravans/trailers must be no more than 7.6 metres.

Any caravan or trailer that doesn't meet these specifications won't be eligible for cover.

Vehicle age

The vehicle must be no more than 10 years old on the date you first buy your Tesco Breakdown Cover.

Once you've bought cover, the good news is there is no upper age limit restriction for vehicles, provided you continue to renew your policy and keep paying your premium.
