Tesco Breakdown Cover is provided by RAC Motoring Services and/or RAC Insurance Limited.

Tesco Bank will continue to provide Breakdown Cover where it is linked to a Tesco Bank Car insurance policy.

Q. I understand that Tesco Bank is no longer offering Breakdown Cover to new customers. What does this mean for my existing cover?

A. Your Tesco Breakdown policy is already underwritten and administered by the RAC. They'll continue to provide your cover until it is due for renewal. There are no changes to your existing policy at this time. Tesco Bank will continue to offer Breakdown cover where it is linked to a Tesco Car Insurance policy.

Q. I am an existing customer with Breakdown linked to my Tesco Car Insurance policy, what does this mean for me?

A. Tesco Bank will continue to provide Breakdown cover where it is linked to a Tesco Car Insurance policy. This cover is unaffected. Tesco Bank will write to you when your policy is due for renewal (one year from when you took the cover out) to inform you of this. If you would like to talk to us about your Tesco Car Insurance or linked Breakdown cover, please call 0800 056 9863.

Q. Why should I continue my Breakdown cover with RAC?

A. The RAC already provides your cover and manages all claims and call outs. The RAC is Britain's most experienced breakdown provider and have more patrols per member than any other breakdown service.

Q. What happens when my cover is due for renewal?

A. The RAC will be in touch when your policy is due for renewal to confirm your price for next year. If you pay on an annual continuous basis, this will give you advanced notice of when the payment will be taken from you.

Q. What happens if I break down?

A. Call 0800 003 001 as shown on your Tesco Bank membership card and outlined in your policy booklet.

Q. Will my terms and conditions change?

A. No, your current policy will remain in place until your next renewal. When your policy is due to renew RAC will contact you. You will no longer see the Tesco brand on any letters or documents and you will receive a new RAC branded Policy Booklet at your next renewal.

Q. I've only recently purchased my Tesco Breakdown cover. Am I affected?

A. Tesco Breakdown cover is sold on an annual basis. Your current cover will remain in place until your renewal (a year from when your cover started).

Q. Payments from my account show a reference of RAC Motoring Servs, will this change?

No, the payment reference will not change.
