What is APR?

How is your representative rate calculated?

Since you need Clubcard Plus to benefit from this credit card, the 37.7% APR representative rate includes a variable purchase rate of 19.9% per annum and the £7.99 you already pay for your subscription. Rest assured, you won't need to pay an additional subscription fee for your credit card.

Things you need to know

Although we won’t charge you Foreign Exchange, Over Limit, Late Payment or Returned Item fees, we still expect you to keep your credit card in good order by making your minimum payment on time and staying within your credit limit.

Remember, paying late, missing payments and spending over your credit limit could affect your ability to get credit in the future.

If you cancel your Clubcard Plus subscription, your credit card account will remain active until at least 12 months after your last paid subscription month. We can end this agreement at any time for other reasons but we’ll always give you at least two months’ written notice.

You can apply for this card if you can say yes to all of these questions:

  • Do you subscribe to Clubcard Plus?
  • Do you have an annual income of at least £5,000?
  • Are you are least 18 years of age?
  • Do you have a good credit history?
  • Do you live in the UK, or have a British Forces Post Office address?
  • Do you currently have no more than one Tesco Bank Credit Card?
  • Can you confirm you haven’t applied for a Tesco Bank Credit Card in the last month?

  • Your address history in the past three years
  • Details of your annual income and your monthly take home pay
  • Bank account number and sort code and details of other credit cards, if you'd like to transfer the balances to us

If you request a balance transfer as part of your application, you'll need to activate your card within 60 days in order for this to be processed. You can transfer up to 95% of your available credit limit. You won't be able to transfer a balance between Tesco Bank Credit Cards.

What is APR?

APR stands for Annual Percentage Rate. It shows you how much your borrowing will cost over the period of an average year, over the term of your debt. It also helps you compare different cards on the market.

After a 0% period, the amount of interest you'll need to pay on any outstanding balances will be determined by the APR.

Collecting Tesco Clubcard points

How to collect Tesco Clubcard points with your Tesco Bank Clubcard Plus Credit Card:

  • It’s simple: use your Clubcard Plus Credit Card wherever you see the Mastercard logo. You’ll collect Clubcard points on almost everything you buy.
  • You collect 1 Clubcard point for every £4 spent (£4 minimum) in Tesco and 1 Clubcard point for every £8 spent (£8 minimum) outside Tesco in each purchase transaction.
  • There are some products at Tesco you can't collect Clubcard points on. Find out more about collecting Clubcard points at the Tesco Clubcard website. Clubcard points also can’t be collected on Tesco Travel Money purchases.
  • Clubcard points collection rates are subject to change.
  • You must have available credit.

The Tesco Clubcard Scheme is administered by Tesco Stores Limited, Tesco House, Shire Park, Kestrel Way, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 1GA, who are responsible for fulfilling Clubcard points.

About your fees

As a Clubcard Plus member with this credit card you could benefit fro:

  • No Foreign Exchange fees
  • No Over Limit fee - normally this would be charged every time you go over your credit limit or stay over the limit at any time during your statement period.
  • No Late Payment fee - normally this would be charged if you don't make your minimum payment on time
  • No Returned Item fees - normally this would be charged if a Direct Debit, cheque or other payment is returned due to a lack of funds

But remember the card will still have other fees for example Balance Transfers, Money Transfers, Cash Transactions (where you're using the card to buy cash or credit elsewhere - for example purchasing non-sterling currency outside of Tesco, payments to a prepaid card and share trading, among others, are regarded as Cash Transactions) and Cash Withdrawals (where you use the credit card at an ATM, over the counter at a bank or from a cash provider), will still incur fees.

If you cancel your Clubcard Plus subscription, your credit card account will remain active until at least 12 months after your last paid subscription month. We can end this agreement at any time for other reasons but we'll always give you at least two months' written notice.
