What is Apple Pay?

Apple Pay is a new way to pay using your Tesco Bank Credit Card. It makes mobile payments quicker and easier than ever before.

Getting started

Can I use Apple Pay?

To use Apple Pay you will need a Tesco Bank Credit Card featuring the MasterCard logo. Unfortunately Visa or Business credit cards are excluded.

You will also need an iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3 running on iOS8.3.

You can also use Apple Pay with an Apple Watch if it is paired with an iPhone 5 or later.

How to set up Apple Pay

To add your Tesco Bank Credit Card to your iPhone, open the Wallet app and follow the instructions. You'll receive a one-time passcode from Tesco Bank that's valid for three hours. Once you enter the passcode, you're ready to shop.

How do I use Apple Pay on my iPhone?

  • Double tap home button
  • Ensure the right card is selected
  • Place finger on Touch ID
  • Tap on Contactless reader

Where can I use Apple Pay?

Apple Pay is accepted in many places that support contactless payments.

Look out for the Apple Pay or contactless symbols.

What about Clubcard points?

You’ll get your additional Tesco Bank Clubcard points as normal while you’re out shopping.

If you're using Apple Pay in a Tesco store that supports contactless payments, swipe your Clubcard before you pay to get your standard Clubcard points as well. Terms apply

Safe and secure

How safe is Apple Pay?

You never have to worry about security with Apple Pay. Your Tesco Bank credit card number is encrypted and stored safely in a dedicated chip in your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch. The card numbers are not held on your phone, and the Apple servers don’t save them either. It’s completely secure.

What happens if my phone or device is lost or stolen?

If your iPhone or iPad is ever lost or stolen, you can use Find My iPhone to put your device in Lost Mode to suspend Apple Pay, or you can remove Apple Pay from your device completely. Whatever you decide to do, you’ll still be able to use your Tesco Bank Credit Card as normal while shopping.

What happens if my Tesco Bank credit card is lost or stolen?
