Registering for Online Banking

Before you can start using online banking you’ll need to get set up first. Have a look at the simple steps below to get started.

All you need to get started is your account details. Hit the button below to start the process

There's just a few simple steps

1. Enter some personal details

This includes your:

  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Postcode
  • Your product details

We’ll then send you a Temporary Security Number immediately by SMS or through the post. It's valid for 30 days so once you receive this enter the details and continue.

2. Choose your security credentials

This includes your:

  • Username (we recommend you use your email address)
  • Image and security phrase, which will appear every time you log in so you'll know you're on the Tesco Bank website
  • Security number that's 6-digits and can't be a simple pattern or your date of birth
  • Password that is at least 7 characters with a mix of letters and numbers. It's case sensitive and can't be the same as your username

You'll use these details every time you log in, so make sure they are memorable. You will also set up security questions that can be used in the future if you need to contact us over the telephone.

3. Read and accept the Online Banking Terms and Conditions

You’ll need to read through the terms and conditions for using Online Banking and accept them. You can download these terms and conditions in PDF format below.

And finally you’ll be asked to allow Tesco Bank to recognise your computer or mobile device for security. This helps us identify that it's really you logging in. If you allow us to recognise your computer or mobile device, we store a small security token on your device which doesn't store any private or personal information about you or your accounts.

Once you've registered for Online Banking, you're ready to start using our app as well. Simply head to the app store and download our app now to get started

Getting started is fast and easy.

Simply have your Online Banking details to hand, and answer a few security questions.

Then, we’ll send you an access code by text to double check you’re you, and finally, we’ll ask for your password.

For easier ways to log in in the future, choose a 5-digit passcode, or you could even use your fingerprint.

And that’s it! You’re set up and ready to use the App. Another little help from Tesco Bank.
