Updating your policy

It is very important that you tell us of any changes to your, or any named drivers', details or circumstances to ensure you are covered in the event of a claim.

If you need changes to your policy or cover to take effect immediately, call our UK-based staff on 0845 246 2895.

If you don't need changes to take effect immediately, you can use our secure online form to:

  • Tell us about a change of vehicle
  • Tell us about a change of address
  • Make changes to your Direct Debit details
  • Make a payment
  • Request replacement documents

Our customer services team will process your online request within 24 hours. Please note that your change will not take effect until you have received confirmation from us by email.

Renewing your policy

We'll send you a renewal invite around 21 days before your renewal date which will contain your renewal price and details of your cover.

Your renewal invite will inform you whether or not your policy (and any optional extras you have previously selected) will renew automatically.

If you have asked us to renew your policy automatically, all you need to do is check that the information on the renewal invite is accurate.

You only need to get in touch if you need to make any changes. You can make changes by calling us on 0845 246 2895 or using our secure online form.

If you chose not to renew your policy automatically but would like to renew your cover, simply call our renewal line on 0845 246 2895 or renew online before the renewal date shown on your invite, and we'll do the rest.

Cancelling your policy

Breakdown Cover

Don't be left stranded when your car breaks down, add Breakdown Cover provided by RAC to your car insurance policy. We have four levels of cover to choose from, so whether you need roadside cover for your everyday commute or you want to be covered in Europe for holidays with your family, we could have something to suit you.

Upgraded Courtesy Car Cover

With this additional cover, you get a car for up to 28 days when your car is out of action following an accident, even if it's deemed unrepairable by your insurer's approved repair network. This cover will make sure you are provided with a car of a similar passenger size and luggage capacity, so whether you need seven seats for your family or space in the back for your dog, you'll have a car to suit your needs.

Driver Injury Cover

Driver Injury Cover is there if you, or any named driver, are hurt in an accident while driving the insured car, regardless of whether the accident is your fault or not. This cover will provide a lump sum payment, up to a maximum specified limit, to help support rehabilitation or expense in the event of a serious injury or death.

Key Cover

What would you do if your car key was lost or stolen? With Key Cover, our 24-hour helpline can help you when your keys are lost, stolen or locked inside your car. After 14 days, cover is provided for all the keys attached to your Key Cover key fob (including your house and business keys) and we'll organise replacement keys and locks up to £1,500 per policy.
