3. The power to double your Clubcard points
It's simple. Your Clubcard Pay+ debit card is your Clubcard. So, you'll collect your Clubcard points as usual in Tesco.
Plus, for the first 3 months after opening your account, you'll receive 1 extra Clubcard point for every £1 you spend in Tesco with Clubcard Pay+. That's double Clubcard points for the first 3 months.
These extra points can take up to 5 working days to arrive in your Clubcard account and will show as ‘TB Clubcard Pay+ Tesco spend'.
And the rewards don't stop there - when you shop with Clubcard Pay+ outside of Tesco, you can collect 1 Clubcard point for every £8 you spend.

- Direct Debits
- Standing Orders
- International transfers in or out of the account
- Sending of CHAPS payments
- Use of Cheques or Bankers drafts

It’s important that you let us know if you change your mobile number and/or email address, so you can continue to get important information from us about Clubcard Pay+.
We’ll usually get in touch with you by SMS, email, push notification or by in-app messaging. You’ll find account communications, including statements in the statements and documents section in our Mobile Banking App, so make sure you check there regularly.
There’s no overdraft on Clubcard Pay+. But it’s possible your account balance may go below zero, for example if a retailer accepts a debit card payment from you without checking with us first to see if there’s enough money in your account.
We’ve set up an alert on your account to automatically let you know by SMS if this happens, and you must top-up your Clubcard Pay+ account to zero immediately. If you do not bring your Clubcard Pay+ account balance to zero we may take steps to suspend and ultimately close your Clubcard Pay+ and Round Up accounts. We’ll also let you know by SMS or email if there’s not enough money in your account to cover payments due that day.
These 2 alerts are there to help you manage your account, but you can opt out of them by calling us on 0345 835 6295*.

A Round Up account is a savings account provided with your Clubcard Pay+ account. The round up functionality, which rounds up to the nearest £1, will be automatically switched on for you when we open your Clubcard Pay+ account, but you can switch it on and off anytime within our Mobile Banking App.
There are some instances where round up transactions won’t occur, such as;
- If a merchant doesn’t ask us to authorise your payment before they take it
- If there are insufficient funds in your account to cover the round up transaction
- Recurring transactions, such as subscriptions payments you may make to services such as Netflix, gym memberships, magazine subscriptions, and where you have agreed for things like your car insurance to ‘auto-renew’
Your Round Up account doesn’t come with a debit card and you can’t use your Clubcard Pay+ debit card to make payments from it. You can access your Round Up account within our Mobile Banking App.
You can also choose to round up to the nearest £5 on big shops. This is called Big Shop Big Round Up (BSBRU). You can turn on BSBRU in our Mobile App and set the amount that you want to count as a ‘big shop’.
For example, if you turn on BSBRU and choose to set £50 as a big shop, a round up will be transferred into your Round Up account each time you spend over £50 to the next nearest multiple of £5. So, if you spend £52.50, we will round up to £55 and a round up of £2.50 will be added to your Round Up account.
You can switch BSBRU on and off anytime within our Mobile Banking App.
This table sets out key information you should know about the account. It should be read together with the Clubcard Pay+ terms and conditions and forms part of our agreement with you.

For security, there's a maximum transfer limit of £100,000 per transaction, but there’s no limit on the number of transactions you can make per day, up to your available balance.

Your Clubcard Pay+ debit card is also your Clubcard and when you open a Clubcard Pay+ account you will be automatically enrolled into the Clubcard scheme if you are not already a member. Tesco Bank will share information with Tesco Stores for the operation of your Clubcard account. Clubcard accounts are managed separately by Tesco Stores, and you should visit the Tesco Stores privacy notice at https://www.tesco.com/help/privacy-and-cookies/privacy-centre/privacy-policy-information/privacy-policy/ for further information about how Tesco Stores uses your information.
For the first 3 months (100 days to be exact) after you open your Clubcard Pay+ account you’ll collect 2 Clubcard points for every £1 you spend using your Clubcard Pay+ debit card, on qualifying products in Tesco and on Tesco Fuel (excludes Esso). That’s one extra Clubcard point for every £1 you spend. After 100 days, you will go back to the standard Clubcard points collection rate for using Clubcard Pay+ in Tesco and on Tesco Fuel (1 Clubcard point for every £1 spent).
There are some products at Tesco that don’t qualify for Clubcard points, see the Tesco Clubcard website for details.
In addition to the Clubcard points collected in Tesco, you also collect 1 Clubcard point for every £8 you spend outside Tesco. Clubcard points are calculated on each Clubcard Pay+ debit card purchase transaction and the collection rate is subject to change.
While you can collect Clubcard points on most of your debit card transactions, there are some exclusions, which include:
- Debit card transactions of £100,000 or more
- Refunds

Independent Service Quality Survey Results
As part of a regulatory requirement, an independent survey was conducted to ask approximately 1,000 customers of each of the 17 largest personal current account providers if they would recommend their provider to friends and family. The results represent the view of customers who took part in the survey.
These results apply solely to current account providers, a product which we closed on 30th November 2021.
