Daily care for your cats

Cats need stimulation and exercise and while some cats enjoy an outdoor life, others prefer an indoor environment.

If your cat prefers being indoors then you will need to find ways for it to exercise. It can be something very simple like a ping pong ball at the end of a string or even a scrunched up piece of paper wrapped in sticky tape.

Cats spend roughly two thirds of their lives sleeping and providing your cat with a quiet and cosy nook is vital.

Grooming

Cats are generally very clean and experts at grooming, but you can also provide some assistance by brushing your cat regularly. The longer your cat's hair, the more frequently you will have to brush it.

Your cat might not warm to the idea of being brushed immediately, but if you persist, or better still, start when it is a kitten, your cat will be more comfortable being brushed. Brushing is important in the warmer summer months when cats shed and regular brushing will help remove excess fur.
