How to register for Online Banking

Find out how to register for Online Banking so you can manage your Savings or Loan accounts.

Registering for Online Banking

Select Savings or Loans from the dropdown menu on the right hand corner and select the Register button. 

Then select the Register now button at the bottom of the page.

Your details

Before registering we’ll ask you to enter your account information and some personal details.

Your temporary PIN

Before you can register we’ll need to send you a temporary PIN.

You can choose this to be sent to your mobile or by post to your home. Select your chosen method and select the Register now button.

Savings customers will be asked to contact us and a temporary PIN will be sent by post.  When you receive it and go online to register, you’ll be asked to enter your temporary PIN.

Enter your PIN

Once you’ve received your temporary PIN, enter it into the six boxes provided.

Choose a Unique ID

If you’ve just applied for a Savings account you may be asked to register for Online Banking as soon as you’ve completed your application.

When prompted, choose a Unique ID, made up of 6-45 characters, that you’ll use to login each time you want to access your account.

Once verified, your Unique ID will be shown in a highlighted box on the screen.

Choose a familiar image and phrase

For security, you’ll be asked to choose a familiar image and phrase. Your chosen image and phrase will be displayed every time you login, so you’ll know you’re on the real Tesco Bank website.

Select the Choose an image button and the image you want to display every time you login.

Now create the phrase you want displayed every time you login.

When logging in, if your image and phrase is not displayed, contact us straight away.

Choose your PIN and Password

Create a six digit PIN for online and telephone banking by entering them in the space provided.

Once you’ve entered your PIN, you must create a password that’s at least seven characters.

Choose and answer three questions from the list. We’ll use these to verify your identity if you need to phone us.

Set up a regular computer

For security, we’ll ask you if the computer you’re using is one of the computers you will normally use to access your Online Banking.

If you access your online account from a different computer, we’ll send a one-time access code to your mobile phone.

This protects your account by helping us make sure it’s you logging in.

Enter your mobile number in the space provided, or review the number we have for you. If you don’t have a mobile phone, you can only login to Online Banking using the computer you are registering on.

Registration is complete

You’ll now be able to login and manage your account online.

Login to Online Banking

Select Savings or Loans from the dropdown menu on the top right of the screen and then the Login button.

Login to Online Banking

Enter your Unique ID in the Login 2 area at the bottom of the screen.

Enter your PIN and password

Check that your familiar image and phrase are displayed so you know you’re on the real Tesco Bank website. If it is displayed, enter the requested digits from your PIN and password into the available spaces in the centre of the screen.

If it isn’t displayed, do not enter any information and call our helpdesk straightaway – you can find their details on the contact us page of our website.

Select the Next button at the bottom right of the screen to login.

Logging in from a non-regular computer

If you’re not using your regular computer, we’ll take you through a security check.  Enter the requested digits from your PIN into the space provided. Then select the Next button.

Your one-time access code

Your Unique ID and the mobile phone number we have for you will be displayed.

If you don’t have a mobile number stored or the number has changed, you’ll need to call us to access your account. If we have a record of your mobile number, we’ll send a one-time access code to your mobile phone.

Once received, enter the one-time access code into the space provided in the centre of the screen.  You can add this computer to your list of regular computers so that you can login next time without using your mobile phone.  To do this select yes, and then select the Next button at the bottom right of the screen.

Enter your password

Enter your password in the space provided and select the Next button at the bottom right of the screen to login.

 

How to manage your login details

Manage your login details

Login to Online Banking

Select Savings or Loans from the dropdown menu on the top right of the screen and then the Login button.

Update your details

Select the Update your security details link at the bottom of the screen.

Login to your account

Login using your Unique ID by entering it into the space provided. Select the Login button.

Check your security

Make sure your familiar image and phrase are displayed, so you know you’re on the real Tesco Bank website.  If it is displayed, enter the requested digits from your PIN and password and select the Next button to continue.

If it isn’t displayed, do not enter any information and call our helpdesk straightaway – you can find their details on the contact us page of our website.

Manage your login details

On this page you can update your details. To make a change, select the item under the Manage my login details menu you’d like to update.

Changing your Unique ID

Enter the new Unique ID you want to use in the space provided and select the Submit button.

Change confirmation

Once you’ve submitted your update you’ll see your new Unique ID displayed in a highlighted box.

Other changes

Follow the same process to change any of the other details. For example, you can change your familiar image and phrase.

Changing your security question

Select your chosen questions from the drop-down menu.  Enter your new answers in the space provided and then select the Submit button on the right of the screen to confirm the change.

Login to Online Banking

Select Savings or Loans from the dropdown menu at the top right of the screen and then the Login button.

Forgotten your Unique ID

You can easily reset your Unique ID by selecting the Forgotten your Unique ID link on the bottom left of the screen.

Enter account details

To retrieve your unique ID, enter the requested details in the space provided and select the Next button on the bottom right of the screen.

Your Unique ID

If you’ve entered your details correctly, your Unique ID will be displayed. Click on the Back to login button and enter your ID when requested.

Forgotten your PIN

After you’ve entered your Unique ID, you’ll be asked to enter characters from your PIN and your password.

If you’ve forgotten your PIN, select the Reset my PIN link on the bottom left of the screen and then the Next button on the right.

If you’ve forgotten your Password, select the Reset my Password link and then the Next button.

This example will explain how to reset your PIN, but you can reset your password the same way.

Security check

To reset your PIN we’ll take you through a security check. Enter your password in the space provided.

Your one-time access code

You’ll see your Unique ID and the mobile phone number we have for you. If we don’t have a record of your mobile number or the number has changed, you’ll need to call us to access your account.

If the number is correct, we’ll send a one-time access code to your mobile phone. Once received, enter your temporary PIN and select the Next button at the bottom of the page.

Choose a new pin

Choose a new PIN by entering it into the space provided, confirm it by entering it again and then select the Send button.

Pin confirmation

You’ll now be given confirmation that your PIN has been updated.

Forgotten your PIN and password

If you’ve forgotten your PIN and your password, you can reset them by selecting the I’ve forgotten both link at the bottom of the screen.

Security check

To reset your PIN and password we’ll take you through a security check and ask you to enter address and account information in the space provided.

Your one-time access code

To reset your PIN and password we’ll send you a temporary PIN. We’ll either send this to your mobile phone for immediate access to your account or by post, which should reach you within five days. Choose which option you’d prefer from the menu and then select the button at the bottom of the page.

Once received, enter your temporary PIN and select the Next button at the bottom of the page.

Login to locked account

Choose and confirm your new PIN and Password.  Choose if you want to add this computer to your list of regular computers so you can login without using your mobile phone.  Once complete, select the Next button at the bottom right of the page to login.
